Why a Diary Beats a Blank Notebook

A blank notebook lets you write “pasta.” A diary built for allergy tracking makes you write the ingredients — wheat, egg, tomato, parmesan — because that is the level where triggers actually hide. One food per line, one symptom per line, each with a time beside it, so when a reaction shows up you can look back and see exactly what came before it.

Printable Diary Questions

A few things parents ask before they hit print.

What's the difference between the two diaries?

The Breastfeeding Diary has two food columns — one for what you eat and one for what your baby eats — because food can reach a breastfed baby both ways. The Baby Diary drops your column and gives your baby’s intake the full width, whether that’s formula, purées, solids or a mix. If you are breastfeeding at all, take the breastfeeding version.

Can I switch from paper to the app later?

Yes. The columns line up with what LittleClues asks for, so a filled-in page transfers over cleanly. Nothing imports automatically — you would type the entries in — but once they are in, the app starts ranking which foods are most likely behind the reactions.

Is the printable diary free?

Yes. Both diaries are free to download and print, with no signup and no email. The app is free too — LittleClues Pro is optional and only unlocks the deeper per-food analysis.
